Flux Influx is a body of work in which I play the quiet observer in an urban space undergoing dramatic change, the renovation and repurposing of a downtown six-floor building. Over ten months I traversed construction terrain, creating photographs in which mundane subject matter is transformed into the sublime, despite its presence in an atmosphere of flux and commotion. Evidence of human manipulation in an effort to deconstruct and reconstruct is captured by the lens of the camera. These images parallel the considerable changes taking place in Austin today and reflect my search for the quiet amidst the chaos. 2014-2015.
